I get it - opening up can be hard
I know that talking about your feelings can be awkward, and therapy doesn’t always feel like a space where you can be yourself. That’s why I use D&D, to create a more relaxed and fun way to work through what’s on your mind.
It’s about having a good time, learning more about yourself, and growing with a group that’s got your back.
I’ve been running D&D games since 2018, and am a trained counsellor who really care. You’ll be in safe hands while we play—and I am an NDIS-eligible provider too.

FAQs
Why are the gameplay sessions fortnightly?
It is set to be fortnightly so you can alternate between gameplay and individual counselling sessions weekly, giving players time to reflect on things between sessions encouraging therapeutic growth. This can also make it more affordable for everyone involved.
The gameplay sessions (group therapy) are fortnightly and will have a set date and time, while your 30-minute individual counselling sessions are flexible depending on availability.
It is encouraged to use and book these individual sessions before your next gameplay session to encourage ongoing reflection and development, however you are also welcome to use them whenever suits you best or combine two for an hour counselling, or use one to make your next two 45 minutes each etc. This way once they are paid for you can use them however you wish and each campaign has a total of 5 hours of individual counselling. You are also welcome to purchase more if needed (see general counselling prices).
Please note that the individual counselling is part of this service and cannot be excluded from the gameplay as it is vital to the therapeutic aspects and is not refundable if not used. They will last until 2 weeks after a campaign finishes before expiring. If you would like to play D&D without the therapeutic element from a licensed counsellor there are other services that just focus exclusively on gameplay.
Why are the groups 4-6 people?
Dungeons & Dragons is best suited for a group of 4 or 5 players. This helps to encourage social interactions, teamwork and a collaborative experience. 6 is the maximum amount allowed to ensure that all players will get the best therapeutic experience, and in case of any absences the gameplay sessions can proceed without issue.
If you would like to play with a group of less than 4 people, prices will increase per fewer people, and the difficulty of the campaigns will be reduced accordingly which may restrict some of the campaign adventures/themes available.
Can I play with family or friends?
Yes you are welcome to play with family and friends and this can be a good bonding experience. Remembering that you will all have your own individual counselling sessions to explore anything you would like to discuss confidentially.
Please note that unless there are at least 4 people, others may be added to the group to make the required number of players.
What can I expect in a session/campaign?
Each campaign is customised around the goals of the group and players. I have planned themed campaigns that your group will select one during the Session 0 when creating your characters, which will then be customised fully around your group before the first session. Even if two different groups select the same theme, it will never be the exact same world having different locations and characters. In addition, Dungeons & Dragons has limitless possibilities so no two groups would ever have the exact same experience making it fully customised to you and your group.
Each of the ten sessions is basically a sub quest of the campaign/story leading to the conclusion of the main quest in session 10. Therefore, to get the full therapeutic experience you will need to complete the campaign.
Once a campaign is completed you are welcome to join another campaign, creating a different character to explore a different aspect of yourself.
Example of the themes;
- The Dragon’s Tyranny – Fight to free the land from an evil dragon!
- A Feywild Celebration – Assist the bizarre creatures with their dilemma!
- The Lost Treasure – Explore the dangerous desert ruins to uncover its riches!
- A Seafaring Exploration – Battle pirates and journey to unexplored territory!
- Warring Nations – Help bring peace to two warring kingdoms, or take a side!
- A Murder Mystery – Be detectives and find the clues to discover the culprit!
- And more!
